I am lucky, I got another Thanksgiving without cooking/cleaning/stressing/entertaining. All I had to do was the appetizer, so I did little carmelized onion, goat cheese, fig jam, rosemary tartletts. April helped and now loves saying tartlett. They were awesome. My mother in law knocked it out once again with a spread of food like you have never seen.
A recap of what she cooked: turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, meatballs, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, corn, green bean casserole, savory gelatin salad (which the kids spit out), bread, butter curls, one of those plates of pickled stuff and two desserts (one adult tiramisu, one kid ice cream pie). I am not joking. She does this every year and I show up with a little measly plate of appetizers. Embarassing.
This weekend was long and good and sunny and warm and relaxing and easy and fun. We did stuff, but also did nothing. I slept. I cooked. I cleaned everything. I did crafts. I am full of grate.
