macaron madness and tea party
oooh la la. Saturday took a little jaunt to Sacramento/Midtown to check out Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates: http://www.gingerelizabeth.com so, so good, and her shop reads like a fine jewelery store. I bought 3 peach macarons and a box of 6 peices of chocolate to share with Marc. On the drive back home I pulled out 1 macaron and said to myself I will just eat 1. Uh, yeah, in like 30 seconds I had devoured all 3. They are a little chewy, very flavorful and softly dissolve in your mouth. Poor Marc. But he did get half of the chocolates which are all very nice, especially the plum one.
I followed up my chcolate excursion with a tea party for 1 at Hina's Tea on L Street http://www.hinastea.com and sat for a whole hour reading the paper and drinking vanilla/black tea which they served at my table in a press along with milk and sugar you pump like hand soap. This is pure heaven for a busy mom, just to sit, read, sip and relax. The tea is the best I've had. I would say it was heaven, but I wasn't also eating a cupcake.
